Oral History Program
Self Evident is launching an oral history training and archiving program to amplify the voices and stories of Asian Americans.
For the past few months, Community Producer Rochelle Kwan and Designer Jen Ng have been working with educators countrywide to build the pilot program. We aim to create a platform that has a long-term impact on the teachings and access to Asian American history for present and future generations.
Designed for all experience levels, the program will equip contributors with skills ranging from relationship-building with narrators, to conducting interviews, and recording audio for upload to our digital archive. We’ll provide you with the tools to create your own oral history through virtual, work-at-your-own-pace lessons, as well as live support during office hours. Your finished piece will be one of the first entries in our digital archive, a growing resource of Asian American experiences.
